GCHG CH, Can CH Rigair Unique Leo ROM

- #5 2016 and 2017 all breed rankings
- 2018 Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Top Sire
Leo was a real trail blazer as the first natural tailed Yorkie to be successfully campaigned in the USA.
We were absolutely thrilled when Ilona Rodionova of Rigair Kennel agreed to allow Leo to join our family of Yorkies. We were concerned about his ability to win with a tail, but he quickly wowed the judges with his outstanding breed characteristics. He returned to Ilona in Canada and quickly secured his championship in 2 weekends with multiple group placements.
After Leo returned to the US, Tonia Holibaugh worked to put his grand championship title on him, then convinced me that Leo needed to be campaigned as she felt he was not only a very good dog, but a great dog. Leo has been nothing short of amazing in the ring. He is a loving pet and is my husband’s best buddy. After my husband suffered a brain injury, Leo wanted to be home to take care of him, so we retired him after 2 years as a special.
The true measure of a dog is in what they produce in their offspring. Leo has been an absolute treasure, consistently producing his best qualities in his puppies. He earned YTCA’s 2018 Top Sire award and we are looking forward to repeats. We are starting to see his grandchildren in the ring which is very exciting.

Vixen refused to show for me. The most outstanding Yorkie I had ever bred and she was an absolute brat. Out of frustration I passed her off to Tonia Holibaugh and they butted heads for a month then suddenly she started winning. She finished her championship by going Best Of Breed over the top ranked Yorkie bitch. She started her specials career in earnest that summer and fought her way to number 2 by the end of October, earning her invitation to Westminster. She finished off the year with a Best Of Breed win over the #1 Yorkie at the AKC National Championship in Orlando. The following February she won Best of Opposite Sex at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Vixen continued in the number 2 spot until July of 2015 when she decided she wanted to be a mom on stopped showing. We retired her and after a few tries, she produced 2 litters of puppies and 3 champions.
